1. Formula69
Formula69 is a science-fiction Film that is being made in IIT delhi using a special technique (codenamed GIn technique) . It is a light hearted adventure of 3 IITians who use their crazy inventions to save the world from a gang of Biochemical terroists . The film is scheduled for a nationwide release on 6/9/2006.

2. PAN IIT & PAN IIM Entrepreneurship Forum- 2006 (Sep 23rd, The Oberoi, Bangalore)

On Sep 23rd '06, IIT D AA Bangalore chapter organized a special 1 day event for Start ups & budding entrepreneurs at the Oberoi, Bangalore. In a booming economy like ours & with the right environment for entrepreneurs to thrive, a forum like this was bound to attract the best of the leadership & talent from the industry.

Under close mentoring from Yogesh Andlay (IITD AA President) & excellent support from IIT K alumni chapter at Bangalore, led by Amit Gupta the teams collaborated to give this event a shape. We had a great knowledge sharing & networking session with 200+ distinguished participants from IITs & IIMs as well as corporates who wanted to be a part of this unique forum. (do visit

Besides distinguished & accomplished entrepreneurs from all the IIT's representing this event, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, IIM Bangalore & IIM Kozhikode alumni members showed tremendous interest. We had over 20 participants traveling from outside Bangalore for the event, we really appreciate their enthusiam & spirit.

Sponsored & conceptualized by Sequoia Capital (Formerly WestBridge Capital) this Forum provided a like-never-before platform for budding entrepreneurs & start ups to network amongst themselves as well as exchange notes with other entrepreneurs in similar technology/ industry space, potential funding VC's as well potential customers. Here are the event highlights for your consumption-

Keynote Address & Guest Speakers
"Innovate, Collaborate & Accelerate"- Opening pitch by Rakesh Rajora, President IITD AA Bangalore chapter, on urgent need for such an annual event.
"Spirit of Entrepreneurship" Useful pointers for scaling up from sub Million to Multi Million goals by Pawan Kumar, Co Founder vMoksha & MD of Cambridge Technology. Strong emphasis on Goal Setting & Ruthless Talent Management were the key takeaways.
"What do VC's look for in a start up?" by Sandeep Singhal, MD- Sequoia Capital, on key vectors which need to be worked upon to ensure VC funding.
"Raising Funds for Start ups" by accomplished serial entrepreneur Rajendra Mishra, gave real life insights on systematically preparing start up for funding. Real life instances were really appreciated by the audience.
"Taking an idea to Market" by Ashish Gupta, MD Helion Venture Partners, (also the former Co founder of
Junglee.com later sold to Amazon) shared GTM (go to market) strategies and necessary preparations from technology, transformation & talent perspective.

Product launch, showcasing of select start ups & open House

15 handpicked start ups were given a short window to describe their ventures from diverse technology platforms & segments and take Q&A around the various challenging aspects of running & scaling up issues. Neelam Dwivedi led this event with wonderful insights from within the audience.

Mingle Box social networking & multi media based collaboration product (alpha) was launched by founder Kavita Iyer & the team. Participants got an excellent flavour of NPI (New Product Introduction) Cycle, from ideation to launch. Writing & executing a Business plan workshop, was a crisp & targeted pitch by Sandeep Singhal around various aspects of robust business & operating structures. Participants found some brilliant insights into spaces hitherto discussed.


Awards & Recognitions

Excellence in entrepreneurship awards are institutionalized to celebrate the true spirit of entrepreneurs, braving rough weathers & making a difference to society. The selection panel from various IIT & IIM Alumni declared the following start ups as the winners of the Excellence in Entrepreneurship award 2006 - Sudhakar Ghorti (IIT-K Alumnus) CEO & Prashant Singh (IIT-D Alumnus) CTO of Proteans Software Solutions (
www.proteans.com), In the area of outsourced product development on Microsoft platform, a Certified Microsoft gold partners company, well on their way to hit a 3 million $ topline in 2006.

L N Mishra (IIM-A Alumnus) CEO of Adaptive Processes ( www.adaptiveprocesses.com) in the area of automated process frameworks, six sigma & process automation space. He runs a lean yet hungry with strong revenues & profits in less than a year's time frame.

Mahendra Pratap (IIT-K Alumnus) CEO of Shiksha Planet ( www.shikshaplanet.com), In the area of talent search using online search engine based on referrals. An innovative product finding many companies subscribing to the business model.

Kavita Iyer (IIT-D, IIM-A Alumnus) CEO of Mingle Box ( www.minglebox.com) along with CTO Sanjay Aggarwal & VP, Sushma Abburi for product innovation in social networking space.

Organizing Committe awards went to well deserving trio Naresh Agarwal, Amit Gupta & Neelam Dwivedi, who worked for weeks in putting the entire show together.

Special thanks to R Nagaraj from NSR Center for Entrepreneurship Learnings from IIM Bangalore for key inputs in making this event a big success.


Needless to say the Delhi chapter has been the backbone all throughout our efforts.
